Harvest for Hunger
Tax season 2012 finally came to an end at Levin, Swedler & Company, Inc. This was a day we truly looked forward to for months, along with the after tax season party at The Winking Lizard with plenty of good food and stiff drinks. We can finally relax with management, co-workers and their families; having conversations about something other than forms 1040, 1065, 1120 or any other tax form put out by any taxing authority on the planet.
Post tax season we look forward to warmer weather, like the warm weather we missed in March due to work weeks of 60-70 hours. Post tax season we look forward to having personal lives, spending time with spouses and children, golfing, reading, hobbies, or just plain relaxing. We look forward to summer which means the Company outing at Canal Park, Aero’s baseball and fireworks on a Friday night, shortened work weeks, and training for the Akron Marathon.
Before we do all that, we once again hosted a food and fund drive to help the Akron Canton Regional Foodbank and the 2012 Harvest for Hunger Campaign. Harvest for Hunger is one of the nation’s largest food and fund campaigns. There are four Foodbanks in Northeast Ohio serving 21 counties. The goal for this year’s campaign is to raise $865,000 and 110,000 pounds of food. To help the Foodbank attain its goal, Levin and Swedler is having a silent auction. The highest bid will most likely be on the “Servant for a Day” auction item, primarily because the servant will be Steve Swedler, partner. Employees have been saving for weeks hoping to have the highest bid. All proceeds will benefit the Foodbank. We are sure this will be our most generous food and fund drive yet!
